About Noirista
Noirista is a New York apparel brand that makes film noir t-shirts. Every tee carries either a piece of hard-boiled crime slang from 1940s and 1950s American film noir, or a restored still from a noir film that has passed into the public domain.
What we make
Slang tees. One word or phrase, set in clean type: Grifter, Two Bit Hood, Shyster, On the Lam, Fencing Ice, I Roll Marks, Gangster's Moll, Femme Fatale, Dangerous and Noirista. What the words mean is in our film noir slang glossary.
Film-still tees. Restored frames from The Big Combo (1955, directed by Joseph H. Lewis, shot by John Alton) and Detour (1945, directed by Edgar G. Ulmer). Both films are in the U.S. public domain.
The details
Each design comes in black or white, in a men's fit and a women's fit, sizes XS to XXXL, printed on a 6 oz heavyweight Bella+Canvas cotton tee. Tees are $42 (XXL $44, XXXL $46). Everything is printed to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse: orders are made and shipped in about 5–7 business days and arrive in roughly 8–12 business days in the continental U.S. U.S. shipping is free on orders of $35 or more, which covers every tee. If anything arrives damaged, misprinted or wrong, we replace it free within 30 days of delivery.
Who we are
Noirista was founded in 2025 in New York City by Myungho Choi, who serves as founder and creative director. The brand is for people who watch in black and white on purpose.
Image rights
All film imagery comes from U.S. public-domain motion pictures and is restored for reuse. Slang designs are original typography.
